Men chased youth with wood through the city

TWO men brandished pieces of wood during a disturbance in a busy area of Newcastle city centre.
-
Kirk Young and Kevin Gibson were seen by police to chase after a youth with the weapons at Newcastle's Monument as the youth shouted for help.
Officers immediately told the duo to drop the of wood and put their arms behind their backs, which they did.
They were arrested and charged with possessing an offensive weapon, to which they pleaded guilty when they appeared at Newcastle Magistrates' Court this week.
