'Hard as nails' Lennie asked to have skull op

A 10-YEAR-OLD boy from Blaydon made the brave decision to have potentially life-altering decompression surgery to have part of his skull removed.

Lennie Parker was diagnosed with Chiari malformation, after being impacted by the condition since he was just two years old, and wanted to undergo the procedure to continue his passion for wrestling.
His parents Steven and Kay would often find Lennie slumped in a corner almost unconscious, with the spates of fatigue lasting anywhere between two hours to two days.
After years of not knowing what was wrong with Lennie, dad Steven has spoken about finding out the full extent of his condition.
