Guehi boost for Magpies after Reds’ January call

NEWCASTLE United have been handed an unexpected transfer boost following the fallout of the summer transfer window.

After Marc Guehi’s deadline day move to Liverpool collapsed, Toon officials kept an eye on the situation from afar without making any fresh approaches for the England star's services.
That was because Newcastle have already acquired the services of Malick Thiaw from AC Milan with the right-sided defender increasing Eddie Howe's options in that department as the club look beyond Fabian Schar and Jamaal Lascelles in future years.
