Dubravka jets in as Trafford is ruled out
The Chronicle
|July 26, 2025
AS Newcastle United miss out on England goalkeeper James Trafford, Martin Dubravka will hook up with his teammates for the second leg of their Far East tour.
-
The Slovakia international was left out of the squad for the trip to Singapore and is still facing an uncertain future. However, the long-serving 36-year-old comes back into the equation after a move for Trafford finally hit the buffers with Burnley.
It means Dubravka is having to step back into his backup role and could get action against a K-League XI and Tottenham Hotspur.
Greek international Odysseas Viachodimos and John Ruddy remain in the squad as further backup, but Howe needs a dependable number 2 and sees Dubravka as that player right now.
