A man appeared in court after an alleged attack in Newcastle city centre
A MAN has appeared in court after an alleged attack in Newcastle city centre.
Stephen Cherry, 40, of Troutdale Place, Longbenton, appeared before Newcastle Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday charged with grievous bodily harm (GBH) following an alleged attack on Westmorland Place.
A man suffered a serious head injury outside of Switch Bar shortly after 6pm on Sunday night. The man was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in a critical condition.
A police cordon and forensics tent were in place overnight at the rear of Switch Bar following the incident.
