Barnes says Howe's still the right fit

FORMER Newcastle United midfielder John Barnes has warned anyone doubting Eddie Howe that no manager can take the club to the level the Magpies boss has.

Howe has seen his decision-making questioned by sections of the fanbase for probably the first time since taking over as manager four years ago. In that spell, the 47-year-old has led Newcastle from the depths of a relegation fight to twice qualifying for the Champions League and winning the club's first domestic trophy in 70 years when they lifted the Carabao Cup.
