Arrests made as police warn of potentially lethal drugs batch

SEVEN people have been arrested in connection with a death linked to a “suspected dangerous drugs batch” in Gateshead.

A man in his 40s was found dead on Friday night in the Harlow Green area near the Angel of the North.
Officers believe the death, along with four cardiac arrests in the Gateshead area between Thursday and Sunday, could potentially be linked to the same drugs batch.
Northumbria Police has since launched an investigation, with a number of arrests made.
