'Another big milestone for Metro fleet project'

OVER 200 MEMBERS OF TRAIN CREW HAVE NOW UNDERTAKEN INTENSIVE TRAINING PROGRAMME
THE Tyne and Wear Metro driver training for the new fleet has now been completed, with Nexus marking the major milestone in its £362million project.
The intensive training programme has now been undertaken by more than 200 members of train crew, including drivers and operations managers.
The transport operator has confirmed that the final group of drivers has passed the conversion course, which means that the main cohort of Metro drivers are now signed off as fully competent when it comes to operating the new Stadler trains.
Cathy Massarella, Managing Director of Nexus, said: “I’m delighted to confirm that we've completed the driver training programme on the new Metro fleet.
