Man demanded money and battered his mum into coma

A MAN has been jailed for attacking his own mother with such violence she had to be put in an induced coma.
Alan Clegg, 42, of no fixed address, appeared at Chester Crown Court to be sentenced after pleading guilty to section 18 assault with intent at an earlier hearing.
He also pleaded guilty to harassment - in breach of a restraining order against a former partner - and possession of a Class B drug (cannabis) and a Class A drug (cocaine).
He was sentenced to 14 years, 10 and a half of which are to be served in prison and the rest on extended licence. He was also handed restraining orders against the two women.
On December 26, 2024 Clegg had an argument with his mother at her Frodsham address and carried out a violent attack on her.
