Demolition of council offices marks start of £14.8m regeneration

A MAJOR milestone has been reached in the £14.8 million regeneration of Ellesmere Port as former council offices are demolished to make way for new housing.
The wide-ranging transformation will bring new homes to the Civic Way site, a modernised market hall and a safer route for walking, wheeling and cycling.
Funding includes £13.3million from Government and £1.5million from Cheshire West and Chester Council.
Justin Madders, MP for Ellesmere Port and Bromborough, who has backed the council-led scheme from the outset, said: "This is regeneration that puts the community first.
