Coalition Drags NNPCL CEO to Tinubu Over 'Unchanged' Leadership Style

A coalition of over 50 civil society organisations led by the Patriotic Nigerian Youth Forum (PNYF) has petitioned President Bola Tinubu over what it describes as persistent highhandedness and lack of reform at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) under its new CEO, Bayo Bashir Ojulari.

In a joint statement signed by Comrade Olamide Odumosu and Comrade Haruna Gambari, convener and co-convener of the coalition, the group accused Ojulari of maintaining “business as usual” despite expectations of reform under the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“We are saddened that the NNPCL continues to operate in the same pattern — in both practice and optics — despite a change in leadership,” the statement read. "We had hoped that the appointment of Mr. Ojulari would mark a turning point, ushering in transparency, accountability, and efficiency. But sadly, nothing has changed.”
