White House recommends EADs for Green Card

A White House Commission has proposed issuing employment authorization cards and travel documents early in the Green Card application process, providing relief to thousands of foreign professionals, predominantly Indians, who face lengthy waiting periods. The proposal aims to grant these documents to individuals who have approved employment-based visa petitions in specific categories and have been waiting in the visa backlog for five or more years. This move is expected to address issues related to the Green Card backlog, improve job portability, and have significant economic benefits.
