Top US diplomat for global women's rights on week-long visit to India

Dr Geeta Rao Gupta, US Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues is on a week-long visit to India from 1 August 2023 to 8 August 2023. She is here to take part in the G-20 conference and meet her Indian counterparts with a goal to draw special attention to and advance the Biden administration’s gender equality policies in the areas and around the world.

According to the State Department’s official, Rao commenced her visit from Gujarat where she will lead the American delegacies to the G20 Alliance for the Empowerment and Progression of Women’s Economic Representation (G20 EMPOWER) Conference. In addition to this, she will take part in the G20 Ministerial Conference on Women’s Empowerment.
