Tomatoes to be sold at Rs 65/kg amidst soaring prices: Centre

In response to the sharp rise in tomato prices, which surged to over Rs 90 per kg in Delhi and NCR, the Centre has launched a relief initiative by selling tomatoes at a subsidized rate of Rs 65 per kg.

This move, spearheaded by the National Cooperative Consumers' Federation (NCCF), is an attempt to control the soaring prices caused by prolonged monsoon rains and high humidity in key tomato-producing states like Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Maharashtra.
