Domestic stock markets closed lower on Monday, marking the third consecutive session in the red. Investor sentiment was dampened by concerns over disappointing quarterly earnings reports and the impending regulatory changes in derivatives trading. The Sensex fell by 52.51 points, settling at 79,433.81, while the Nifty dropped 25.10 points to close at 24,123.10.
Despite the market decline, the monthly investments through Systematic Investment Plans (SIP) showed a positive trend in October. SIP investments rose to Rs 25,323 crore from Rs 24,509 crore in September, reflecting continued retail investor participation in the market. This indicates that while the broader market is facing headwinds, investor confidence in the long-term growth potential of the economy remains strong.
