United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken is currently in Tel Aviv, intensifying efforts to broker a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

On Monday, Blinken met with Israeli President Isaac Herzog, marking a pivotal moment in the ongoing conflict.
Herzog, as reported by the Times of Israel, placed the blame for the lack of progress in hostage negotiations squarely on Hamas, stating that their refusal to advance discussions has been a significant obstacle. Herzog also expressed gratitude to U.S. President Joe Biden for his firm stance in the region amidst ongoing threats from Iran.
During their meeting, Herzog acknowledged the roles of the U.S., Egypt, and Qatar as mediators in the ceasefire talks and expressed hope that negotiations would move forward. He emphasized the urgency of returning hostages, highlighting it as a crucial humanitarian objective. "There is no greater humanitarian objective, and there's no greater humanitarian cause than bringing back our hostages home as they should have returned long ago," Herzog stated.
