During his first state visit to Russia after assuming office for the third consecutive term, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded India’s burgeoning business and innovation ecosystem while addressing the Indian community in Moscow. He emphasized India’s pivotal role in digital payments, claiming that the country has provided the most reliable digital payment model globally.
“Today, India is the country which is giving the most reliable model of digital payments to the world,” PM Modi stated. Reflecting on the growth of startups in India since he first took office in 2014, he noted, “When I first came into power in 2014, the number of startups was in the hundreds, but now the number has increased to lakhs. Today, India is the third-largest startup ecosystem in the world.”
