In a significant development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a Rozgar Mela (employment fair) and virtually distributed appointment letters to over 51,000 newly recruited government employees. During the event, he emphasized the importance of technology in governance, highlighted the government's commitment to empowering women through the passage of the women's reservation bill, and outlined the role of government employees in India's journey toward becoming a developed nation by 2047.
Commending the recent passage of the women's reservation bill in Parliament's new building, the Prime Minister described this historic legislation as a pivotal moment in the country's history. He asserted that it signifies a new future for India and reiterated his government's commitment to opening new doors of opportunity for girls and women, emphasizing the positive impact of their participation across various sectors.
Highlighting the transformative role of technology in government schemes, Prime Minister Modi emphasized that it has curbed corruption, reduced complexities, and enhanced credibility and comfort for citizens. Encouraging the new employees, he stressed the importance of adopting a "citizens-first" approach and leveraging technology to improve governance. He cited examples such as direct benefit transfers, train ticket booking, and digital lockers as instances where technology has streamlined government services.
