India poised to remain fastest growing major economy in 2024-25, says CEA Nageswaran

In a press conference following the tabling of the Economic Survey in Parliament on Monday, Chief Economic Adviser V Anantha Nageswaran expressed optimism about India’s economic growth prospects.

According to the Economic Survey, India is projected to grow at 6.5-7.0% in 2024-25, solidifying its position as the fastest-growing major economy.
This forecast is in line with projections from global institutions such as the IMF, OECD, World Bank, S&P, ADB, and Fitch, which estimate India’s growth rate to range from 6.6-7.2%. The IMF, in its latest outlook, has even raised India’s growth projections for 2024 from 6.8% to 7%, acknowledging the country’s emergence as a leader in emerging markets and developing economies.
