India, Kenya look to avocado imports for improved bilateral relations

After eight long years of negotiations and diplomacy, Kenya has got market access in India for avocados which have been launched in the country amidst immense potential for avocado consumption

Small domestic production opens an opportunity for good quality imports and this is expected to help India to strengthen trade relations with Kenya as avocado represents the history, culture and emotions of Kenya, said Swadha Rizvi, Deputy Secretary, East and Southern Africa Division Ministry of External Affairs at the launch event of Kenyan avocado in India jointly organised by Kenya High Commission and ASSOCHAM.
