Commerce and Industry minister Piyush Goyal will embark on a two-day visit to the United Kingdom (UK) from today to assess the progress of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the two countries.
In January 2022, India and the UK initiated discussions on the FTA and established a target of reaching an agreement by Diwali last year. However, the deadline was not met due to unresolved disparities regard- ing enhanced market entry for specific goods and services.
