Dubai announces ambitious plan to achieve 50% reduction in carbon emissions

DH ubai, in a bold move, has declared its commitment to achieving carbon neutrality, setting a robust target of reducing emissions by 50% by 2030.

This ambitious initiative builds upon the city’s decade-long progress in transitioning to clean energy and is underpinned by a comprehensive roadmap aiming for net-zero status by 2050.
Abdulla Mohammed Al Basti, Secretary-General of the Dubai Executive Council, reiterated Dubai’s unwavering dedication to environmental sustainability and climate action, aligning with the goals of the Paris Agreement. He emphasized Dubai’s commitment to collaborate with global cities sharing a vision for sustainability, attributing the city’s achievements to the visionary leadership of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the directives of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
