Caring for Your skin through changing seasons: A simple guide
The Business Guardian
|September 26, 2025
As the seasons shift, so do the needs of our skin.
The transition from summer to autumn, or winter to spring, can be harsh on your skin if not managed with the right care. Each season brings with it a unique set of environmental changes—temperature fluctuations, humidity levels, wind exposure, and even increased indoor heating or air conditioning. All of these factors can influence the texture, hydration, and overall health of your skin.
That's why adapting your skincare routine with each changing season is essential to maintain a healthy, radiant complexion year-round.
During the onset of colder months, many people experience dry, flaky skin. The drop in humidity, combined with cold winds and artificial indoor heat, tends to strip the skin of its natural oils. This leads to a compromised skin barrier, resulting in dryness, redness, and sensitivity. To protect your skin during this time, it's important to switch to more hydrating cleansers and heavier moisturizers. Foaming or gel-based cleansers that work well in humid summers may feel too harsh in winter. Instead, gentle cream-based or oil-based cleansers help preserve your skin's natural moisture. Moisturizers containing ceramides, hyaluronic acid, or glycerin are great choices, as they help lock in hydration and repair the skin's barrier.
