The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) emphasized that the visit aims to restore positive momentum in bilateral engagement by deepening cooperation across economic, strategic, and people-to-people domains.
Official Spokesperson for the MEA, Randhir Jaiswal, stated that the visit reflects a shared commitment to expanding dialogue between the two nations. "This visit will help build on the positive momentum in India-Canada relations by revitalising our bilateral mechanisms, deepening economic cooperation, and further strengthening the enduring people-to-people ties that anchor our partnership," the MEA said in a post on X.
Anita Anand arrived in New Delhi on Sunday as part of her first official visit to India after assuming office as Foreign Minister. During her stay, she is scheduled to meet External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal.
