Bhutan's organic sustainability journey: A greener future

Bhutan bravely decided to launch an ambitious effort in 2019 to become the first all organic nation in the world by 2020. The objective was to advance a sustainable agricultural system, enhance effective organic farming practices, and save the environment for coming generations.

The vow, which was initially made through the National Organic Flagship Programme (NOFP) under the auspices of the National Organic Programme (NOP), was delayed to 2035 due to the complexity of this transformative change.
After more than four years, concerns about the accomplishment of this objective have surfaced.
