ASUS CHARGES FOR TOP SPOT WITH LOCAL GAMING LAPTOPS

In a strategic move to dominate India's consumer laptop market, Asus is set to commence the production of high-end gaming laptops within the country by the end of this year.

With aspirations to surpass competitors like HP and Dell, Asus, which secured the second rank in 2023, aims to claim the top position with a targeted market share of up to 30 percent by the end of 2024.

Arnold Su, Vice President of Consumer and Gaming PCs at Asus India, highlighted the company's remarkable journey from being the sixth-ranked brand in 2018 to securing the second position in 2023. Su emphasized the significance of the Indian market due to its low

PC penetration, and with the commitment to ramp up local production, Asus aims to make all flagship products available to Indian consumers immediately after their global announcement.

India's consumer laptop market witnessed a decline from 5.2 million units in 2021 to 4.8 million units in 2023, as per IDC data cited by Asus. Despite the contraction in the overall market, Asus reported growth, capturing around 18 percent market share in 2023, up from 16 percent in 2022.
