Assam distributes ration cards to 42 lakh new recipients

Distribution of ration cards 42 lakh new beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) has commenced in Assam, inaugurated by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his constituency, Jalukbari.

Sarma, present at the launch event in Boripara on Tuesday, referred to it as a significant achievement in the present government's tenure.
A total of 42,85,745 new beneficiaries will be covered under the NFSA in the state, with ceremonial ration card distribution scheduled throughout the state, as per an official release.
