VP SARA REJECTS ‘BUDGET-DRIVEN RACKET,’ WELCOMES REAL CHARGES

Vice President Sara Duterte declared she is ready to face any legitimate complaint “grounded in fact and truth,” but rejected what she described as attempts to use impeachment as a negotiating tool ahead of the final passage of the 2026 national budget.
“To those who continue to exploit the impeachment process, stop hiding behind the language of ‘good governance,” Duterte said in a statement Monday, Dec. 8.
She stressed that while she remains prepared to answer real charges, she will not allow a constitutional mechanism to be “distorted for political gain.”
