Members of the House of Representatives vowed to pursue legal action on Monday, Sept. 8, after contractor Pacifico "Curlee" Discaya Il named them in connection with alleged irregularities in flood control projects during a Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing.

Marikina City 1st district Rep. Marcelino "Marcy" Teodoro said he was surprised to be implicated, especially since he just returned to being a congressman at the start of the 20th Congress last June 30.

"Nabigla ako. ‘Di ako nakaupong congressman noon, si Cong. BF [Bayani Fernando] pa. Wala ako sa posisyon non...Mag-file kami ng slander," Teodoro said in a message to House reporters.

"Walang katotohanan ang mga paratang ng mga Discaya. Isa lang itong demolition job- - a cheap shot para siraan ako," the Marikina solon said in a subsequent statement Monday afternoon.
