68 LTO enforcers axed in corruption crackdown

Sixty-eight personnel of the Land Transportation Office's (LTO) Law Enforcement Service have been dismissed in a sweeping anti-corruption purge, LTO chief Assistant Secretary Vigor D. Mendoza II announced on Friday, Sept. 26.
Mendoza said he terminated the contract of the enforcers assigned at the agency's Central Office in Quezon City, following performance evaluations and complaints lodged by motorists and netizens.
"This is also as part of our efforts to weed out corruption and to professionalize LTO's enforcement team," he said.
