THREE children's play areas across the borough of Reigate and Banstead are set for major makeovers including new equipment and landscaping

Reigate & Banstead Borough Council (RBBC) has announced this week that children's play areas in Reigate, Banstead and Kingswood will receive revamps with work set to begin early this year.

The makeovers are part of RRBC's annual play area replacement programme that sees a few of the borough's 55 older play areas and skate parks receive upgrades following condition assessments and inspections.

RRBC's executive member for environment and sustainability highlighted the importance of the scheme, suggesting that outdoor play is "vital" for children and saying the council's investment will continue to allow young ones to "let their imagination run free".

The play areas getting upgrades in 2026 will be Hogden Bottom in Kingswood, Beecholme Recreation Ground in Banstead, and South Park in Reigate.

The council's appointed contractor, Kompan, was due to start work at Hogden Bottom during the week starting on Monday, January 5.
