SUNSET SERENADE CONCERT PROMISES CLASSICS WITH A FRESH TWIST

- By MARTIN NEAL

THE Chantry Singers will perform a concert of light, feel-good songs at their Sunset Serenade concert at St Nicolas Church, Bury Street, Guildford, this weekend.

The Singers promise a mixture of sounds from folk, musicals and classical plus other catchy songs the audience may recognise but with varied new arrangements.

Formed in 1983, The Chantry Singers is a Guildford-based chamber choir of around 30 members.

Established by Tim Venvell, an assistant in the music department of Guildford's Royal Grammar School, the choir initially comprised staff, parents and other invited singers.
