Harriers keep title hope alive at Lambton Castle

The third North East Harrier League cross-country fixture of the season took place within the beautiful surroundings of Lambton Castle Estate, with over 1,000 finishers across the 10-race format, writes Kevin Carr.
The fixture was key to both Sunderland Harriers' men's and women's title aspirations.
The penultimate race of the day saw the senior women set off on two gruelling laps with a couple of hills thrown in for good measure.
Sunderland Harriers' women needed a good result from this fixture, and it was Jessica Fox racing from the fast pack who led the Royal Blue charge as she put paid to the five minutes handicap and finished in a superb ninth place.
In the four-to-count team competition, the final three counters were Charlotte Stidolph (17th), Grace Carroll in 28th, and finally Julie Pescod who crossed the line in 57th.
