Boldon's promotion quest gets major boost

Readers Durham & North East Cricket League Division One leaders Boldon have a seven-point cushion at the top after winning their last six games and they welcome Crook to Sunderland Road this weekend.

As Boldon continue their quest for the title, the three teams who have applied to join the NEPL will be promoted if they remain in the promotion places after Swalwell, from the NTCL, have withdrawn their application.
With two games remaining, Boldon, Durham City and Brandon hold the top three positions.
At the bottom, Boldon CA are relegated and they face Littletown at home, while fourth placed Esh Winning, who are still in with a chance of promotion, take on South Shields.
