Clarification on academic integrity: addressing confusion in UKZN discourse

While intended for little children, Lewis Carroll’s fairy tale script, "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland", throws light on what happens when situations are intentionally created to confuse.

Morojele’s response to an article by Professor "Thabo Zulu" of the University of KwaZulu-Natal falls into this category.Professor Morojele penned an article titled "Why I was fired for upholding governance integrity at the University of KwaZulu-Natal" on the 16th of October 2025. Professor Paulus Zulu responded with an article titled "Letter reflects poorly on author's academic acumen."

Any literate person would perceive that Morojele never mentioned an incidence of poor governance or of flouting governance principles in his article of October 16, besides stating that what the Parliamentary Portfolio found was what he had been warning the University about and that he had been fired for that. The absence of evidence prompted Paulus Zulu’s article on November 23.
