Sunday Sun UK
|November 09, 2025
A MAN has been fined after he claimed to be carrying a sharp-pointed woodworking tool in the street because he'd been "fannying around".
Simon Armstrong
Simon Armstrong had been arrested for an unrelated matter outside a Blyth address when a bradawl - used to make pilot holes for screws and nails - was discovered in his pocket.
The 37-year-old later claimed he had no idea that carrying the tool in public was illegal and had forgotten it was in his pocket.
