TRUMP RAISES STAKES

B-2 Spirit warplanes, capable of delivering nuclear weapons, appeared to be en route to Guam in the Pacific Ocean, where the US has multiple military installations.

Just days ago Donald Trump vowed to decide “in the next two weeks” on whether to strike Iran.

The repositioning of the B-2s suggests the president might be prepared to launch an attack sooner than expected.

The move came as Iran's foreign minister Abbas Araghchi warned US intervention in the conflict with Israel would be perilous. Speaking amid diplomatic talks in Istanbul, Turkey, he insisted he would not enter negotiations with Trump “when our people are under bombardment” by Israel.

On the 10th day of the conflict yesterday, Israel and Iran exchanged further strikes in the early hours, with the Israeli military announcing a new wave of attacks against Iranian missile storage and launch sites.

Israel's defence minister Israel Katz said its forces had killed Iranian military commander Saeed Izadi in a strike on an apartment in the Iranian city of Qom, calling it a “major achievement for Israeli intelligence and the air force”.
