CHELSEA are hoping the Club World Cup will deliver a near £100million passport to glory.
The Blues go into the 32-team tournament in the United States having won the trophy in 2022, in its old seven-team format.
That was at the tail end of Roman Abramovich’s ownership.
Chelsea's current joint owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali have tried to recruit Europe’ best young talent and the most skilful players from around the world to lay down the foundations of long-term success.
But the prize money on offer in the Club World Cup (CWC) this summer - the winners could trouser £97m of a total £775m pool - would be a game changer for their potential spend in the transfer market this summer.
