WOMAN'S SHOCKER AS 'NASTY COUGH' ENDS UP BEING STAGE 2 CANCER

A WOMAN who thought she had a nasty chest infection has told of her shock when doctors discovered she had blood cancer.

Beth Harris, 24, was persuaded to go to her GP by her mum, Debbie Harris, 60, and partner, Lewis Talbot, after suffering from a cough for nearly a month.

She was prescribed two different types of antibiotics but when neither worked, was sent for an X-ray and CT scan and told to expect the results two weeks on.

However just days later, on March 4, Beth, from Cannock, Staffordshire, and given the crushing news she had stage two B-cell lymphoma.

She is now undergoing an intense course of chemotherapy before she'll be moved onto oral tablets with the aim of being in remission by October.

Beth, a conveyancer, said: “It was a lot to be told I had a chest infection to suddenly cancer.
