The Salt Path tells emotional tale behind Midland couple's journey

HOLLYWOOD actor Gillian Anderson has told how she was “profoundly affected” by a memoir written by a Leicestershire woman.

Ms Anderson stars alongside Jason Isaacs in The Salt Path, an emotional new movie which tells the story of Melton Mowbray couple Raynor and Moth Winn, who embarked on a 630-mile journey along the South West Coast Path following tragic news.

A financial dispute resulted in the couple losing their dream home in Wales, days after Moth was diagnosed with corticobasal degeneration, a rare brain disease.

With nothing left to lose, Moth and Raynor embarked on the challenging trek along England’s longest national trail, from Somerset to Dorset, passing through Devon and Cornwall.
