A MAN who raped and battered a woman in a phone box has been jailed.
Cornel Filipeche attacked the victim, who was a stranger, on Walsall Road near the One Stop shopping centre in Perry Barr in the early hours of Saturday, January 18.
Earlier in the night the 21-year-old Romanian national had been caught on CCTV pleasuring himself in a nearby Wetherspoon's pub after leaving the women's toilets.
He was arrested three days later after West Midlands Police issued images of the suspect as part of a public appeal.
Filipeche, of Hawthorn Road, Kingstanding, admitted rape, wounding with intent and robbery.
Judge John Butterfield concluded he was a 'dangerous offender' as he sentenced him to ten years custody with an extended five-year licence period at Birmingham Crown Court on Friday, June 6.
Filipeche spent the hearing crying and holding his head, as his brave victim watched on from the public gallery.
The married father-of-one had branded himself a 'f***ing dog' to probation workers.
