Families of children sexually abused by teaching assistant launch civil claim

- ANNABAL BAGDI News Reporter

'I never imagined he could be capable of something so horrific'

MUMS whose disabled sons were sexually abused by a sick teaching assistant are launching a civil claim for damages.

Paedophile Daniel Clarke could be among some of the most prolific sex offenders in the UK, with police believing there may be more than 80 potential victims.

He was working at a special needs school in Solihull when he groomed 'vulnerable' boys and also preyed on children he was hired to look after.

He also met victims through his role with a Midlands charity which organised activities for children with special educational needs.

The pervert played twisted 'truth or dare' sex games with his victims, filmed his abuse and then kept a list of the children he recorded.

Boys were plied with alcohol, forced to listen adult content and told to keep the sickening abuse a secret.

Clarke, 28, of Signal Grove, Bloxwich, admitted making indecent photographs of children, three counts of sexual assault of a child, two counts of sexual activity with a child and three counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity relating to six victims between 2013 and 2024.

He was jailed for 12 years at Wolverhampton Crown Court. He was also barred for life from working with children, handed a sexual harm prevention order and told he must remain on the sex offenders register for life.
