A NIGHT TO REMEMBER!

YOU very rarely meet a Brummie of a certain age who hasn't been to Snobs - it is like a rite of passage.

A NIGHT TO REMEMBER!

However, when the Sunday Mercury asked people what was the favourite nightclub from their youth, we were surprised to find out Snobs didn't top the list.

It was actually second on the list - but it goes to show quite how many awesome night spots the city had.

In a survey asking people to crown Brum’s best nightclub from back in the day, top of the pops was actually Dome.

The colossal dance palace, in Bristol Street, that is now rocking crowds as the O2 Academy, was much loved.

Capturing the essence of the Dome in their vote, one fan reminisced: “Walking into the main room hearing an absolute banger, seeing the big glitter ball, grabbing a load of 50p drinks to take to your spot on the balcony and boom! The night begins! Best memories of my teenage years!”.

Another club-goer declared: “Always friendly, good music, lots of space to dance, really good laughs.”

Another said: “So many bars, friendly staff, amazing lighting, always guaranteed an amazing night”.
