Xmas sprouts shortage after crops rained off

Farmers say climate has hit veg supply

BRUSSELS sprouts could be off the menu on Christmas Day amid a predicted shortage.

Farmers say climate change means crops of broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and Brussels will be worse than usual, meaning prices could rise.

Trade paper Fresh Press said: "The market continues to increase as supplies become lighter coupled with strong demand. The yield and quality challenges remain as we navigate the next few weeks."
