Stephen expects smart buys to sell big for Buds

- BY FRASER WILSON

STEPHEN ROBINSON insists St Mirren have stockpiled assets on a shoestring so the Buddies can coin it in down the line.

Ireland midfielder Killian Phillips, Jamaica defender Miguel Freckleton and Australia ace Keanu Baccus are among the international stars who arrived on permanent deals in the summer.

Jayden Richardson and Roland Idowu have also shone since making the switch to Paisley and have helped drive Saints into the Premier Sports Cup semifinal.

Robinson is certain the talent pool in his dressing-room will pay dividends in future.

But for now he’s focused on squeezing every drop of value out of his squad on the park as he aims for a remarkable fourth successive top-six finish.

The Northern Irishman is in his fourth full season as Saints boss after replacing Jim Goodwin in 2022.
