Powell push for delivery

KEIR Starmer sacked Lucy Powell from his Cabinet earlier this year.

It is a move he may now be ruing after she was elected as Labour's deputy leader yesterday.

Powell is unlikely to be publicly critical of the government at every opportunity.

But she has also made no secret of her opinion that policy is being set by too small an inner circle and that there needs to be more listening and less dictating to MPs.

This is advice Prime Minister Keir Starmer may not want to hear but would do well to take on board.
