My health, family and career are suffering But I still don't know what I'm accused of

A LABOUR MSP suspended over sexual harassment claims has denied any wrongdoing and threatened legal action over allegations which have left his life a "living hell".

Foysol Choudhury, 56, has broken his silence to reveal that 10 weeks after being informed of a complaint he still hasn't been told what he is accused of, or who has made the accusation.

There has been no complaint to police or to parliamentary authorities and several of the MSP's staff and colleagues have told the Sunday Mail they are mystified by the report to Labour's Governance and Legal Unit (GLU) in Newcastle.

Despite this Bangladesh-born Foysol, who received an MBE in 2004 for decades of community work, now faces an exit from Holyrood after being removed as Labour's candidate for Edinburgh North.

Foysal said: "This process has made my life a living hell.

"I have not been told what I am accused of nor given any information that would allow me to respond or defend myself.

"Despite being ready at all times to answer any questions, my health, career, family life and reputation have been severely affected.

"Regardless of the eventual outcome, my honour and reputation have already been damaged.

"The GLU has repeatedly reminded me about the importance of strict confidentiality for both myself and the complainer - and I have fully adhered to this.

"With this interview I am giving you the facts, how I feel, information for the public to understand the situation I am in.

"Throughout this period, my dedicated staff and I have continued to work hard for my constituents.

"I have remained in my local office to ensure transparency and accountability while this is ongoing.
