Hibs hitman out to deck Haals with a glut of poacher's goals
KIERON BOWIE is turning to Erling Haaland for a poacher's masterclass in being in the right place at the right time.
The Hibs and Scotland star is getting to grips with being an out-and-out striker and concedes he is still trying to get his timing right inside the box.
It was a tap-in during last weekend's 3-0 victory over Falkirk that left Hibs boss David Gray beaming - even though the marksman had curled in a beauty earlier in the game.
That is because Gray is trying to drum it into the 23-year-old that he needs to commit to runs inside the area instead of going looking for the ball.
And when it comes to taking tips, Bowie reckons there's no one better at sniffing out goals than Manchester City and Norway sharpshooter Haaland. He said: "The gaffer spoke about the second goal being his favourite. It's just getting in that area and you can score.
"There was one in the first half where I pulled out and at the time I was like, 'Oh no, why have I done that?'
"But then at halftime he said, 'You just need to make sure you get in there.' That in the box. It wasn't really that natural to me before this season but it's coming now.
