Laszlo warns Varga's air power makes Ferencvaros too strong

- BY FRASER MACKIE

BARNABAS’ VARGA suffered a broken cheekbone and concussion in a gruesome clash against Scotland at Euro 2024.

But Csaba Laszlo reckons Rangers will struggle to save face against the Ferencvaros strike ace on Thursday.

Varga, knocked out by Angus Gunn at the Euros, is the late developer who has taken Hungarian football by storm.

The 31-year-old spearheads Robbie Keanes title holders and his national side.

And ex-Ferencvaros head coach Laszlo loves his story.

The next chapter is major Euro progress with his club.

That looks doable with Ferencvaros sixth and unbeaten in the Europa League.

Troubled Gers, with one point from five games, visit Budapest next and Varga will be up against an injury-hit Danny Rohl defence.

Laszlo expects he'll add to his 20 goals in 26 appearances for club and country this season.

‘And he reckons Rangers fans will wonder what kind of damage Varga could've wreaked in Scotland - if only their club had spotted him.
