Full marques for Range Rover offering power, luxury and long-distance driving

THERE was a time when someone who needed a totally performing car would choose Range Rover. They still do.

When they wanted luxury alongside they opted for Range Rover. They still do.

It made the marque one of the most sought after, not just in the UK but around the world.

What is even more interesting is, when the Velar arrived on my driveway, I discovered it was a diesel.

Few manufacturers are still making diesel and even fewer send them out to be reviewed. So full marks to JLR for this.

I believe there may be a full electric coming down the line but in the meantime it is with relief that I make several trips to and from Edinburgh (the Kelpies have become my best friends and I wave as I pass) without worrying about fuel.

And, of course, I do it in total comfort.

It is heartening in this ever-changing world that some things are exactly as expected. So it is with this Velar.
